GOT WOOD?
After 12 years in the Navy — most of it spent on the flight deck under pressure and noise — I was ready for a new task. I wanted to create something real, something that would last. So I picked up tools, cleared space in my garage, and started Back Aft Studio.
As a disabled veteran, working a traditional job isn’t always a fit. This shop gives me purpose, flexibility, and a way to keep creating while building something meaningful on my own terms.
I craft custom wood and resin pieces using locally sourced and reclaimed Washington wood whenever I can. I also design original prints and journals, which are professionally produced in North Carolina to ensure great quality (since I don’t have the equipment for in-house production yet).
Everything here is made with care, in small batches, and with pride. If it ends up in your home, I want it to feel like it belongs there.
Thanks for being part of the journey.
